Horse Racing

Horse Racing Details
All a person can do when evaluating horses is look at the pedigree and see if the sire has a record for siring runners, and look at the dam's produce record and the produce records of her near relatives, and see if the genetic potential for a horse to be a runner is there. That's all pedigree will give you: some insight into potential. While good breeding doesn't guarantee success, it's very rare for a horse with nothing at all in the pedigree to be outstanding. And when a horse with an obscure pedigree becomes a success, you can usually see that within no more than a generation back of his sire and dam there are good names, although they may not be fashionable at the moment.
